Oct 17,  · I didn't give this album enough credit when it was released, but it's actually holding up very well over time as one of my favorite MMJ albums. This is an incredibly well done pressing, spreading the album over two discs at The physical packing is superb as well, with the high quality inners and sturdy jacket. This is a no-brainer to have/5().

My Morning Jacket is an American rock band formed in Louisville, Kentucky in The band currently consists of vocalist/guitarist Jim James, bassist Tom Blankenship, drummer Patrick Hallahan, guitarist Carl Broemel, and keyboardist Bo Koster. The band's sound, rooted in rock and country, is often experimental and psychedelic.

I'm not going to dissect the album like some of the reviewers do. Just going to say I had never heard of My Morning Jacket prior to My first live show was in Mexico in Since that show I've purchased nearly all of MMJ albums. I've seen them 4 more times since then & I can't wait for the next live show. Give them a try/5().

A very different album sound to their previous stuff, less aggressive and a bit mellow, though the change in style still does justice to the songs. "Believe" is a good song to kick off the album. Compound Fracture does not add much value, but the next two songs are decent, specially "The Waterfall", which starts off oddly but picks up nicely.

My Morning Jacket's eclecticism has long been one of their strong suits, but their sonic wanderlust seems to fail them a bit on their seventh studio album, The Waterfall. Jim James and his bandmates have followed a lot of different stylistic paths since they made their debut at the end of the '90s, and the polished, prog-laced classic rock sound of "Believe (Nobody Knows)" and the sleek mix of.
